It was an unusual surprise for the 33 participating students when we first introduced our design studio Sta(d)ttwohnen in March 2016. A design studio consisting of an excursion to Alpbach, an individually determined design approach, a communication component and finally a performance during the EFA16. A huge amount of work to fit into one semester program, but a great chance for all to perform at the opening of the EFA16 Built Environment Symposium .
WORTHLESS ROOM
A performative act, which reflects societal needs in the built environment. An installation as a statement.
OPENING BUILT ENVIRONMENT TALKS/EFA
Rethinking the seminar room furniture, leads to the question how participants react to an apparently unfurnished space. Handmade chairs and pillows encourage to shape its own seminar environment – an appropriation of space!
